Progressive Hospital's comprehensive team-approach includes patients and families in planning and evaluating individualized patient care. Efforts toward patient comfort include temperature controls in each room, tranquil surroundings, and visiting 24 hours per day. Families are encouraged to visit loved ones, and they can even bring cherished pets.
OVERVIEW
Progressive Hospital is a 24 bed facility, Licensed by The Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance March 2002. The facility certified in the Medicare Program as a Long Term Care Hospital (LTCH) January 1, 2004.
Patients admitted to Progressive Hospital are clinically complex with multiple acute and or chronic conditions. Patients are usually transferred from the full service hospital who cannot be cared for at a lower level of care or at home. A pre-admission screening is completed by the community liaison and a clinical team assesses if the patient is appropriate for admission and requires an extended stay of greater than 25 days. Typical patients treated at Progressive Hospital include, but are not limited to, Respiratory Failure with ventilator management and weaning, infectious diseases needing IV antibiotics, wound care, and multisystem failures. Physicians visit patients daily but are not on premises 24/7.

Meet the MANAGEMENT team

ROSEMARY THIELE
HOSPITAL CEO
Graduate of Mercy college of Nursing with BSN, Cum Laude, from Saint Anselms College and MBA , Magna Cum Laude, from National University. She has over 40 years of healthcare experience including almost 20 years experience in the Long Term Care Hospital arena. Her positions and responsibilities have included hospital as well as corporate roles. As a patient advocate, Rosemary focuses on quality outcomes as well as cost containment and fiscal responsibility. She is in her tenth year as CEO of Progressive Hospital

Ruth Knutson
Chief Financial Officer
Ruth has an Accounting Degree from Western WI College in La Crosse, Wisconsin where her career began. She has 40 years of healthcare experience and has spent 10 years as a CFO in the LTCH setting. She has been in her position at Progressive Hospital for almost eight years managing and directing all the functions of Financial Management and Health Information Services. In addition, Ruth functions as the Human Resources and Civil Rights Coordinator.

Arlene Harper
RN, CHIEF NURSING OFFICER
Arlene is in her tenth year as CNO at Progressive Hospital. She has a ADN from Northern Maine College and is a graduated of the University of Phoenix with a BS in management. Her 29 years of experience include various nursing roles on and off US soil. In additional to her CNO role, she also functions as the Infection Preventionist and Employee Health Nurse.

Gerard Marshall
RRT, DIRECTOR of RESPIRATORY Therapy & REHABILITATION SERVICES
Gerard is from Los Angeles, California. He graduated from Mount San Antonio College RT School and has been an RRT since 1981. Gerard worked in Neonatal, Pediatrics, and Adult Care as an RRT in the Southern California area till 1990. Gerard and his wife moved to Las Vegas in 1990. From 1994 to 2002 Gerard worked for Life Therapy, initially as Director of Respiratory Therapy and then promoted to Director of Operations. Since 2002 Gerard has been the Director of Therapy Services at Progressive Hospital. His department's focus is on positive patient outcomes with therapist driven protocols and evidence based practice. Gerard is active in the Nevada Society for Respiratory Care. He is a past President and a two term Board Member.
